Photokina will change the frequency from every two years to an annual show in Cologne.
With the DIMA Conference canceled for some years and the downscale of the PMA Show, the Photokina will be the only event for the Photo Industry worldwide that will attract international manufacturer, retailer, and consumer.
Raines Führes, Chairman of the Photokina explain the reasons for the change:
“The digital transformation of the imaging industry is advancing, and thus opening up new perspectives and value creation potential. The new date and the annual cycle should in the future make Photokina even more attractive to all providers of the imaging ecosystem. In this way, we show the specialized trade, the media, and our users an even broader bandwidth of state-of-the-art products, applications, and services in Cologne which especially suits the young imaging culture.”
The annual show dates are not the only changes. The transformation of the industry will have its impact on the focus of Photokina as well. Media Content Management, Software, and Mobile Apps will receive a wider attention in the Halls of the Koelnmesse.
